The idea of a revitalized city brings to mind something creative, networked and sustainable. A vision that is a representation of the small connections that come to make up the fabric of that city. Each small connection that exist from person to person, thing to thing can be the relationships formed from giving, getting, buying, bartering, trading and making. Our vision of the fabric of these networked relationships can be realized best by our members. They each represent makers, artists, entrepreneurs, friends, members of virtual communities as well as members of physical neighborhoods and society. These smaller networked communities support the larger in a microcosm of connections through the relationships of neighbor, buyer, seller, member and mentor. At the Festival of Ideas for the New City, ETSY and it’s local New York Street Team, The {NewNew} represents this concept.

Merrimack and Monitor is pleased to announce that we have been selected to join 4 other Etsy {NewNew} members to represent our vision for the New City. On May 7th, we will join artists from across New York City take part in the New Muesum’s Festival Ideas’ Street Fest ion the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The ETSY Booth will be located on Rivington between Chrystie and Bowery.
